Most are too complicated that I end up not using them or bloated with features that clutter the interface or too simple to get much value out of. I have used and tried several finance tracking apps over the past couple years and never very satisfied with any of them. I’ve tinkered with it a fair bit and I love that if I want to change what I call a store I shop at regularly or how I categorize my spending it’s really easy to edit names and tags in the settings. LOL)Įdited 6/18 to add that I’ve had this app now for over two years and I still really love it and use it daily to track my balance. (But it did give me an excuse to go through and streamline a bit so that it just says the name of the place, and not all that extra stuff about which location, so I guess it wasn’t a total wash. Mine imported with the payee listed as the description so I had to spend some quality time fixing that. My suggestion to any newbies is that when you import your CSV file from the bank pay close attention to what it suggests for the headers of each column of info. I love the reports that show me how I'm spending my money and let me see when I've been eating too much fast food.

I have Debit & Credit on on my Mac Mini as well as my iPhone and iPad and they sync w/ each other instantly and effortlessly. I like that I can go ahead and deducts the bills I've set up for payment even though the’re in the future so I really know how much money I have available, because my bank doesn't show them until they're pending to clear my account. This app is awesome if you want a way to keep up with how much money is in the bank w/o having to check the bank's website everyday. Jillypooh's Review of Debit Credit Reviewed on 6/27/18 2:48 AM One of my favorite apps! star star star star star You’ll use it every day and won’t ever want or need to use anything else. Do yourself a favor: buy this app and give it 3 months. Overall, the premium version is worth every last penny and I won’t sit and sell the more advanced/robust features- they’re listed above. This may be Ivan’s vision for the app- to not make things too complicated. I just haven’t seen many exciting new additions or updates since I’ve been using it. My one wish is that some more features will be added to the program. I believe they can be reminders as well, but most debits these days are automatic and the day of monthly auto-withdrawal often fluctuates too much for these to be reliable. Recurring transactions are nice for fixed incomes and expenses, but mainly only save me the time of having to enter the info for them each month. I can clearly see that trend in the app’s graphs. Now- I don’t use the budgeting features simply because I am very financially responsible and make enough money that I am thankfully able to save more than I spend each month. The financial insight this simple app has given me has been priceless. I recommend it to my friends, and I recommend it to you. Ivan is a good guy and has shown me that he is always there to back his creation. He fixed the one or two small bugs I reported in the next release, and gratefully thanked me for my feature requests/suggestions. All because of this app! I owe Ivan big time!Īnd- speaking of Ivan (the developer): he has always been very quick to respond to my many questions. I’m saving all that money now, and I’m so much healthier and happier. Guess what? I have been successful in quitting and staying away from both for months. It bothered me so much that I decided to quit drinking and smoking completely. I could not ignore the evidence- or the realization of what I could have done with all that wasted money. True story: this app recently gave me a very in-your-face figure of how much I had spent on useless vices this past year (alcohol, nicotine). spending over the months has proved indispensable. I loved the detailed but succinct reports showing exactly where my money had gone over different time periods, organized in finely tuned (and customizable) categories, sub-categories and tags.

but it did what I wanted and I quickly found that it was stable, accurate and met all of my functional needs.īut- I can tell you this- the real power of this app wasn’t realized until I’d been using it for a few months. I will admit, I still wasn’t quite happy with it at the time. I tried nearly all of them and this one seemed to be the best of them. An app you’ve used daily for years is suddenly gone from your life. I have been using this app for over a year now, as my previous ledger was no longer supported on the newer versions of iOS.
